About us

Shannon's Place is a registered 5013(c) non-profit children's residential treatment center located in Wood County, Hawkins, Texas. We provide therapeutic intervention programs serving siblings between the ages of 10 and 17 years old who have been displaced by Child Protective Services or other traumatic family events.  We aim to provide services to displaced children in our community. 

Currently, when siblings are displaced, they are separated into temporary homes or motels outside of the Wood County city limits, subsequently, and sometimes significantly contributing more to the immediate trauma they have just experienced. Shannon's Place offers a safe haven for siblings within the Wood County city limits, ensuring they are together and remain together until more permanent conditions are secured for the entire sibling group, thereby reducing additional trauma by ensuring the sibling unit remains together.
